Decision of the General Meeting of the Slovak Society of Actuaries No. 2006/1

In accordance with Article 9 of the Statutes of the Society, the Slovak Society of Actuaries adopts the following Decision:

Membership of the Slovak Society of Actuaries

  1. Membership of the Society is open to any person who satisfies the appropriate requirements of the Education Syllabus, have at least one year’s relevant practical experience, have not been found guilty of a deliberate criminal act and are not currently being prosecuted for such an act, and apply for membership.
  2. A Member of the Society may apply to have recognised the status of Actuary SSA, if he or she satisfies the appropriate requirements of the Education Syllabus and has at least three year’s relevant practical experience.
  3. A full member of an actuarial association, which is a Member of the GC, may apply to have recognised the status of Actuary SSA, in accordance with the GC Mutual Recognition Agreement, if he or she is a citizen of an EU country, or of an EEA country, or of Switzerland.
  4. For the purposes of paragraphs 1. and 2., the Board will specify how the requirements with regard to education and relevant practical experience are to be demonstrated.
  5. To be accepted as a Member or to have recognised the status of Actuary SSA in accordance with paragraphs 1. and 2., the applicant is required to submit a request to the Board and demonstrate that he or she meets the conditions laid down in those paragraphs.
  6. To recognise the status of Actuary SSA in accordance with paragraph 3., the Board may apply the requirements laid down in the appropriate article of the GC Mutual Recognition Agreement in force at the date of application.
  7. The Board decides on the acceptance of an application for membership or an application for recognition of the status of Actuary SSA. If the Board accepts an application for the recognition of the status of Actuary SSA in accordance with paragraph 3., it will notify the home actuarial association of this fact.

This Decision comes into affect on the day that the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic takes cognizance of the Statutes of the Society approved by General Meeting on 2 March 2006.

In accordance with Article 9 of the Statutes of the Society, the Slovak Society of Actuaries adopts the following Decision:

Suspension and termination of membership

  1. Membership of the Society is suspended a) for a period of at most one year on the basis of a disciplinary decision in accordance with the Disciplinary Procedure. b) for a period of at least one year – if a Member so requests the Board in writing, – if a Member, after receipt of a reminder from the Treasurer, fails to pay his or her subscription within three months of its due date.
  2. A Member, whose membership is suspended in accordance with paragraph 1., – does not pay any subscription due after the date of suspension of membership – does not have the rights conferred under paragraph 1. of Article 6 of the Statutes of the Society, – with the exception of suspension in accordance with paragraph 1.a), may request the Board in writing to have their membership reinstated on such terms as will be determined by the Board.
  3. Membership of the Society terminates a) by cancellation of membership on the basis of a notice to this affect given in writing to the Board, b) if a member whose membership has been suspended for non-payment of subscription does not request within two years of their suspension to have their membership reinstated, c) on the death of a Member, d) on the expulsion of a Member as a result of a final decision to this effect in accordance with the Disciplinary Procedure of the Society, e) on dissolution of the Society in accordance with Article 17 of the Statutes of the Society.
  4. A Member, who is the subject of disciplinary proceedings in accordance with the Disciplinary Procedure of the Society and terminates membership in accordance with paragraph 3.a), will be deemed to continue his or her membership until those disciplinary proceedings have been completed.
  5. On the cancellation of a membership gained by virtue of the membership of the actuarial association of another country, the Board will notify this fact to the member’s home association.

Decision of the General Meeting of the Slovak Society of Actuaries No. 2006/3

In accordance with Article 9 of the Statutes of the Society, the Slovak Society of Actuaries adopts the following Decision:

Reduced subscription

A Member of the Society, who submits to the Board an application to pay a reduced subscription, pays the subscription appropriate to an Aspirant, if a) the Member is on maternity or parent leave, b) the Member is aged at least 60 and is no longer actively at work.

This Decision comes into affect on the day that the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic takes cognizance of the Statutes of the Society approved by General Meeting on 2 March 2006.
